I never know if anyone actually reads these bio's but if you do, hopefully you find this helpful.
A brief work history for me, after i graduated from Otago university in 2007 i found myself working in Palmerston North hospital, in their Oral health and maxillofacial surgery department, where i learnt a lot of my advanced surgical dental knowledge.
I moved to auckland after that to pursue a career in the private sector, where i have worked in clinics in many areas, Remuera, Albany and Browns bay before buying my first clinic with my wife kellie in Birkenhead in 2010 ( formerly called Birkenhead family dental and now part of the floss brand - now called Floss dental birkenhead - ONEWA ROAD )
Plain and simple i love talking to people and helping people get over their fear of the dentist.
I love learning new procedures and offering new services that you may normally have to see a specialist for at a affordable rate.
I must get bored easily, as i am always pursuing extra training and have completed training in Australia for both placing and restoring implants and orthodontic treatments
In my spare time, i spend most of my time with my family, Kellie (the other principle dentist here) and our 5 and 7 year old boys, on top of that I pretty much love anything with a motor in it.you are welcome to start any conversation that involves motorised vehicles at any time with me.

Dr. Kellie Houlahan is the co-owner of Floss Dental in Birkenhead, which she runs alongside her husband, Dan. A graduate of the University of Otago (BDS, 2007), Kellie began her career as a house surgeon at Waikato Hospital, where she gained valuable experience managing but not limited to trauma, oral cancer and TMJ.
Over the years, Kellie has worked in—and co-owned—multiple dental clinics across the Auckland region, building a strong reputation for her caring approach and clinical excellence. She has a particular talent for working with anxious patients, using her calm manner and deep experience to help people feel at ease in the dental chair.
Kellie offers a range of advanced dental services, with a special focus on intravenous (IV) sedation and high-aesthetic dentistry—perfectly blending function and beauty to achieve stunning, confidence-boosting results.
A proud local, Kellie lives on the North Shore with her two energetic boys, Cooper and Chase, and their much-loved mini schnauzer, Ninja. When she’s not at the clinic, you’ll find her keeping up with her kids’ adventures, enjoying good food, and supporting her community on the soccer field.

Harvey is also a keen fisherman when he gets a chance.
He has been working with us for over 8 years now and has a loyal following of patients that love seeing him.

Hello, I’m Michelle!
I am a graduate from the Auckland University of Technology in Oral Health. My skills involve dental hygiene, therapy and orthodontic auxiliary work, with a special interest in gum disease, bleaching and homecare education. I am a member of the NZDHA and NZDOHTA.
I value patient centred care and ensuring each person I see has a comfortable, positive experience! I am also able to provide my services for free to secondary school children through the governments Dental Benefit Scheme.
Other interests of mine include spending endless time at the beach, exercising at the gym or outdoors, cooking.
